My Review:

Looking for a Leprechaun tells an imaginative and inspiring tale about self-discovery, self-acceptance and self-affirmation. Feeling like an outsider in the magical world he lives in, Rich follows a friendly fairy's advice to look for a leprechaun in hopes of finding where he truly belongs. His heart sinks as he finds nothing but hostility and rejection from other creatures in each place he visits. Luckily, the fairy reappears to cheer him up with a special song, which helps change his way of thinking and brighten up his world.

Through magical characters and whimsical illustrations, the story delivers clear and compelling messages about the balance between belonging and individuality while demonstrating the transformative power of positive thinking. Rich's quest seems to suggest that the lack of a sense of belonging may turn into an opportunity for self-discovery. Accepting yourself as who you are and not letting others' opinions define you will help boost your confidence and find your purpose in life. Further, focusing on the positive may help discover nice things and kind people that get overlooked before.

On the one hand, the book encourages youngsters to enjoy being their unique selves; on the other, it indicates the importance of inclusion and acceptance in a world as diverse as the one we live in today. While dedicated to kids who feel like they don't belong, the book is an uplifting read for all.
