If you've read
my intro to eebee's adventures, you must have an idea of how adorable eebee is and the ways in which eebee's adventures are different from other infant and toddler developmental products. Backed by sound research,
eebee's adventures are designed to "help you and your baby transform everyday play, observation and exploration into learning that lasts."
Every Baby Company, creator of eebee, has generously sent me a full set of eebee threebee DVDs and a hand puppet for review. Each of the three DVDs,
Exploring Real Stuff,
All In A Day’s Play, and
Figuring Things Out consists of three 10-minute segments, original music and songs, game ideas and interviews with developmental experts. All the videos feature eebee and real babies interacting with parents and real life objects.
I'm very much inspired by the simple yet entertaining game ideas incorporated in the videos. What amazed me most is that I've never seen anything else that has captured my son's attention for that long-he sat through the entire duration of each DVD! When I teased him by covering his eyes in the middle of a video, he immediately pushed my hand away. The videos were so engaging that my son actively imitated the actions and sounds in it.
Now I'd like to give you some highlights on each DVD.
Exploring Real Stuff is good for babies aged 6 months and up. It started with eebee and mom playing with a huge tub of cheerios. My son loves cheerios and got really excited at the sight of so many! He learned with eebee to scoop, pour, fill and funnel using various containers.
Babies love to play with paper and boxes. eebee is no exception. He learned feeling, tearing and stretching in a paper mountain and hiding, pulling, and pushing through a big cardboard box. I had tried in vain to break my son away from his obsession with paper. Now I know it's fine for him to follow his natural curiosity and practice motor skills along the way.
In this DVD, Eebee and his friends also made discoveries about rolling and sliding by playing with balls, tubes, ramps, and blocks.
All In A Day’s Play is also designed for babies aged 6 months and up. It continues to demonstrate how ordinary things in our life can be used as educational toys for babies.
In this episode, eebee had great fun digging through a laundry basket, flipping through a soft book, looking into a mirror, and maneuvering such little objects as cups, bowls, pots, pans, and spoons. He learned about different textures and colors, different parts of his body, and sounds things make as they drop, move or meet one another.
He and his friends also played games like peek-a-boo, elevator, and airplane with their parents. I never thought about the elevator game before and my son couldn't stop laughing when I moved him from the ground floor to the fourth and then back to the ground. Peek-a-boo is already his favorite. But for the first time he covered his face with his own hands and kept practicing since!
Figuring Things Out is intended for older babies aged 12 months and above. Eebee learned a lot more complex skills such as turning a light on and off, tracking a flashlight’s beam, and playing with shadows.
He used blocks to build, stack, and un-build, managed to fit small cups into larger ones, and to find his way out of the pillow mountain and other obstacles.
We had a great time following eebee through his adventures. Not only did my son get exposed to some useful new skills, but I also learned about how to be a more creative and attractive parent. Turning everyday objects into fun toys for babies can be economical as well. Babies don't have to rely on fancy, expensive props to get ahead.

We received this cute eebee hand puppet after we watched the DVDs. My son's face lightened up the moment I put the puppet in front of him. He made exciting sounds to indicate that he recognized who that was. The next moment he surprised me with a big kiss on eebee's cheek. This little guy is apparently in love with eebee! The puppet made him love watching the videos even more. He'll reach for the DVDs on the shelf when he wants to see eebee in action. He loves throwing hugs and kisses at the puppet and playing peek-a-boo with eebee, who has already become a member of our family.
Besides the DVDs and hand puppet,
eebee.com also carries a wide selection of themed toys, books, and clothes. Also worth mentioning is that eebee products have won 15 national parenting awards, including multiple Parents Choice Award. You should definitely keep eebee in mind when you shop for educational toys.
