Some of you may still remember the Flip for Fall challenge last year, when Aller-Ease provided me with one set of protective bedding products to try for free and another set to give away. The giveaway was quite a blast and we love all the products we received, especially the pillows. Let's Flip for Fall: Ultimate Checklist and Aller-Ease Winner

Thanks to all your wonderful participation, the "Ultimate Flip for Fall Checklist" is finally here! Is your tip on the list? Check it out--

1. Wash furniture slipcovers and throws that aren’t on your bed and snuggle up withclean, allergen-free blankets.
2. Keep your dryer vent clear: Excess lint in the dryer vent will cause extra dust to be released into your home. Speaking of laundry, flip those laundry loads quickly to avoid mold and mildew.
3. Take down mini blinds, or at least while the curtains are washing, wipe blinds
   clean of all dust and debris. While you’re at it, wash windows and seal windows
   along the edges.
4. Change air filters, vents and maybe even call in the chimney sweeps!
5. Clean the entire house using disinfectant, but especially don’t forget the phone
   and door handles that are often overlooked. Steam clean the carpet as well.
6. Create a Flip for Fall checklist for all the areas in your home (hall closet, master
   bathroom, beds, pantry etc.). Once an area has been cleaned, check it off and
   include the date.
7. Clean out old items in the garage and attic, and get seasonal decorations ready.
   Use bins to organize by holiday or season so that you can easily locate them.
8. Go through kids clothing and have them do a fashion show to make certain that
   everything fits. Clean their closets while everything is out.
9. Make sure your flashlights have batteries and stock up on emergency candles.
10. Change the look and feel of your home with simple changes like hanging a fallthemed
    welcome sign or changing your doormat, bring out seasonal candles, table
    decorations and even placemats.
    

Since great minds think alike, there were considerable overlaps among the tips that had been submitted. My husband has been suffering from seasonal allergies for years and we've been actively searching for ways to help relieve his symptoms. Here is a list of things we do to prepare our home for the change of season:

• Change and wash bedding every week. Now that we've got Aller-Ease products that provide an allergen filtration layer, we may only need to change every other week.
• Vacuum the carpet daily. It'll be ideal to use a vacuum equipped with a HEPA filter, but we don't have one now.
  
• Change clothes when we get home from the outside. We do this for all seasons.
  
• Change air conditioner filters more frequently.
• De-clutter and clean the rooms more frequently to minimize dust buildups

Since we don't have pets, we don't have to worry about pet hair. Now it's your turn to share and win!

Let's Flip for Fall

"It's coming." My husband sighed.

I know, I know, it's this time of the year again--watery eyes, runny nose, itchy throat, and occasional headache. Allergy attacks! Current threat level: orange.

But don't worry, honey. There are things we can do to alleviate your sufferings.



Do allergies frequently pester you or anyone in your family? Do you have any tips or tricks for preparing your home for the allergy season and keeping allergens under control? If so, we want to hear from you! The Motherhood and Aller-Ease, the leading manufacturer of protective bedding, are inviting you to join the Flip for Fall Challenge. To my great excitement, I've been chosen as one of the 10 mom bloggers for the Flip for Fall campaign. For the next two weeks, each of us will be sharing our videos and tips for allergy relief, reviewing and giving away awesome Aller-Ease products. But the campaign can't be successful without your participation!
