We Can Color: Fun & Facts Coloring Books Blog Tour: Review and Prize Pack Giveaway

As one of my kids' favorite screen-free activities, drawing and coloring has become a part of their daily routine. We've got quite a collection of coloring books on hand, but still the We Can Color series by Daniel Gershkovitz is able to amaze us with its exceptional quality and unique features. Learn more about the series and enter to win one of two awesome prize packs!

My Review:

The We Can Color books are certainly not your average coloring books and they offer so much more than refining your child's motor skills. Each of the 11 books in the series is essentially a coloring book and an illustrated science book rolled into one. With each book focusing on a specific theme, the series covers a wide range of topics that are popular among children, such as space, nature, animals, and moving vehicles. The pictures are not only realistic, but are also filled with fascinating details that help practice patience and precision, as well as opening opportunities for creativity.

Each coloring page is accompanied by a page of relevant fun facts that are backed by scientific research and that provide a fair amount of reading and vocabulary building. The scope of knowledge involved is incredible! I believe the books offer an eye-opening learning experience for the grown-ups as well. Coloring books usually see the end of their usefulness once the coloring is done. Fortunately, that's not the case for the We Can Color series. Children are tempted to go back to the books and read them over and over again as picture books that are partially illustrated by the readers themselves!

While all the books in the series are wonderful, my kids do have their own favorites. As an avid fan of planes, my middle son loves the The Coolest Aircraft in the World! best. My oldest is most interested in Space Technology and Our Solar System! and my youngest can't have enough of The Great Animals of the Ocean! So, that's the nice thing about owning the entire series -- there is something for everyone in the family^_^ If you're to buy just one set of coloring books for your little ones this summer, We Can Color is definitely the one I'd recommend.

Sneaky Chef No Nut Butter + Fruit Spread Review & Variety Pack Giveaway {Cruising to Win Giveaway Hop}

Chef and best-selling author Missy Chase Lapine, aka The Sneaky Chef, has been known for having transformed the way America feeds its families by creating a unique method of "sneaking the good stuff" in kids' favorite recipes to make every meal more nutritious. Just in time for back-to-school this year, The Sneaky Chef has recently developed a new line of fruit spreads, which pair perfectly with Sneaky Chef's award-winning No Nut Butter as the "PEA"B & J that everyone can enjoy, including those with food allergies!

Sneaky Chef Fruit Spreads come in a variety of fun flavors never seen before in the jelly aisle like Watermelon Slice, Caramel Apple, Cherry Vanilla Pop and Blue Razz Berry, as well as time-honored classics Grape-licious, Strawberry Patch and Red Razz Berry. What makes these fruit spreads truly special is that each jar contains three hidden veggies - carrot, beet and sweet potato.

Free of peanuts, tree nuts and seeds, Sneaky Chef No Nut Butter provides a deliciously safe alternative to peanut butter. It's made from naturally sweet and nutty tasting golden peas, which means a generous amount of veggie protein. Available in Creamy and Chocolate flavors, Sneaky Chef No Nut Butter is all natural, Non-GMO, soy free, gluten free, dairy free, with no high fructose corn syrup, no hydrogenated oils, and no artificial colors or flavors.

The Sneaky Chef kindly invited my family to try out three of her products: Blue Razz-berry Fruit Spread, Chocolate No Nut Butter and Grab ‘n Go Creamy No-Nut Butter. They all taste awesome and go well together as a spread on bread and crackers, a dip for fresh fruits and veggies, or a topping for pancakes and waffles. They are great to have for a meal or snack at any time of the day. The Blue Razz-berry Fruit Spread has a smooth texture and a berry sweet taste. I love that the Chocolate No Nut Butter contains only half the sugar of other chocolate spreads, so we can enjoy the rich chocolate flavor without having to worry about getting to much sugary contents. Grab ‘n Go Creamy No-Nut Butter comes in convenient easy-to-open small packages, perfect to pack in the kids' lunchbox and good for portion control!

Eight O'Clock Coffee Back-to-School Tips & Parent Survival Pack Giveaway

As school starts and season changes, it’s time to adjust to the new schedules and daily routines. Eight O’Clock Coffee has prepared a few tips to help get parents and their kids through the craziness of back-to-school season.

Here are the “Back-to-School Survival Tips” from Eight O’Clock Coffee:

TIP 1: Become Your Own Brewista: Save time, money and gas this back-to-school season by brewing your morning coffee at home. You can even set your coffee maker’s timer the night before to wake up to great-smelling Eight O’Clock Coffee.

TIP 2: Preplan Lunch: A few days before school starts, sit down with your kids and create a grocery list of healthy snacks and lunches they would like for school. Rotate each of their selections throughout the week. Make Tuesday “Turkey Tuesday” or Wednesday “Wrap Wednesday” – adding variety to keep lunch exciting. When possible, pack their lunch the night before to reduce stress in the morning.

TIP 3: Assemble Weekly Wardrobes: Every Sunday check the upcoming weekly weather forecast with your kids. Then, have them pick out five outfits for the upcoming school week. Hang them in daily order in their closet to avoid the inevitable, “Mom, I can’t find my favorite blue shirt!”

TIP 4: Be Prepared for School Projects: Avoid late night rushing around to complete school projects by having art supplies on hand. Create an arts and craft bin that includes more than just crayons and colored paper. Collect items like pipe cleaners, stickers, figurines, beads – even coffee beans – and other creative finds, and put the fun back in school projects.

The Giveaway

In addition to the free tips, Eight O'Clock Coffee has generously offered to give one of my lucky readers a Back-to-School Parent Survival Pack including a drawstring bag, travel mug and 2 bags of Eight O’Clock Coffee!

• Identify a School Coordinator to manage your school’s account.

Consumers who purchase and enter a code from any package of Sprite/Sprite Zero can get an entry into the sweepstakes to help their school win. Know Where Your Kids Are with SecuraTrac GPS

Child safety is one of the most discussed topics during back-to-school season. Every 40 seconds someone’s son or daughter is reported missing, totaling over 800,000 missing children in the United States each year. Parents are concerned about how to keep track of their children while they are out of sight and what steps to take to help shorten the time it takes to locate a missing child.

Have you seen the movie "Taken" (2008) starring Liam Neeson? Kim, daughter in the story was lucky to be found by his superhero dad. But not many parents are former CIA agents. In reality however, we could possibly track our child internationally with the help of a reliable amber alert gps tool.

I was recently introduced to SecuraTrac, a CA-based company specializing in gps tracking devices. Their flagship product is a compact, portable personal automated locator called SecuraPAL. Its slick design allows SecuraPAL to easily fit into a child's pocket or backpack. Using the global positioning system satellites and the mobile phone networks, it can accurately report your child's location to the SecuraTrac network, through which you will be notified of your child's current location at regular intervals.

You can communicate with your SecuraPAL anytime via your cell phone or a secure personalized website. You can also configure your own SecuraFences, per-determined boundaries for your child's movement. The SecuraPAL proactively and automatically alerts you whenever your child goes beyond those SecuraFences.

SecuraPAL is a great child safety and amber alert gps tool  for keeping track of the ones you love. This small, lightweight gps tracking device can be purchased from SecuraTrac website at $129.99 each with a 2-year contract. If you feel the price is a bit beyond your current budget or you'd like to test drive SecuraPAL before you buy, you may choose the option to rent the device at $9.99 per day. You will only be billed for the days in use. The rental rate already includes two-way shipping and handling.

Wish everyone a happy and safe new school year!

Disclosure: I'm writing this post as a SecuraTrac affiliate. I will be getting a commission if you place an order via my link.
