A Cinderella Story: Starstuck, the sixth installment in the A Cinderella Story movie series, is out on DVD today! Set in Dreary, Idaho, this all-new musical stars Bailee Madison (A Week Away) as our modern-day Cinderella Finley Tremain, a country girl with Hollywood dreams, and Michael Evans Behling (All American) as her charming romantic interest, Jackson Stone.
Synopsis:
Finley Tremaine, a small-town farm girl, longs to spread her wings and soar as an aspiring performer. When a Hollywood film crew arrives in her sleepy town, she is determined to land a role in the production and capture the attention of handsome lead actor Jackson Stone. Unfortunately, a botched audition forces her to change course. Now, disguised as cowboy “Huck,” Finley finally gets her big break. But can she keep the charade a secret from everyone, including her evil stepmother and devious step-siblings?
In celebration of the DVD's official release, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment kindly sent us a copy for review, along with a box of freshly baked cookies featuring cute farm animals and elements from the movie.
My kids had great fun coloring some of the cookies with the tools provided in the package.
The movie is quite entertaining, with the bad guys unintentionally making a fool of themselves, and the cute, smart heroine showing her acting talents in funny, unconventional ways. Our family had a good laugh watching the movie together. I enjoyed the cheerful singing and dancing scenes and was deeply impressed with Bailee Madison's beautiful voice, fancy stunts, and sweet smiles. I also like that the story puts more focus on how Finley persists in pursuing her dream despite all the adversities, than the romance between the main leads. The kids, on the other hand, is attracted to the farm animals that appear in the movie, especially the naughty piggy.
