My Review:
The Snail and the Butterfly is a cozy and uplifting rhyming picture book demonstrating the magic power of courage, confidence, determination and perseverance. A little snail catches the attention of an old butterfly as every day he keeps climbing up the stalk of the mushroom she rests on and then aborting his mission right before reaching the top. Puzzled by this rather odd observation, the butterfly initiates a conversation with the snail, who reveals his wish to learn how to fly - to fly away from all the scary things on the ground. Will the butterfly be his mentor?
The combination of a snail, a butterfly, and a mushroom is a sure win among young readers. While simple sentences coupled with short rhyming words make the book pleasant to read aloud and easy to understand, its cheerful, brightly colored illustrations featuring a neat, nature-themed background charm the little ones with cute characters and light-hearted humor.
