The Museum of Lost Teeth Blog Tour: Review and Prize Pack Giveaway

What do you usually do with the lost baby teeth of your children? Have your little ones ever wondered about the whereabouts of those teeth? My Review:

Well-written and imaginatively illustrated, The Museum of Lost Teeth is a highly engrossing and entertaining book that teaches about dental care by following a baby tooth's fun adventure after it fells out. Toothy prides himself on being a sharp and shining incisor inside the mouth of Liam, who does a great job of brushing and flossing every day. He doesn't feel so good though, about becoming the first baby tooth to say bye to Liam. Just as Toothy starts worrying about his future, the Tooth Fairy picks him up and flies him to the magnificent Museum of Lost Teeth, where he embarks on an eye-opening experience involving all sorts of fun activities.

From showing busy Tooth Fairies in different genders and skin colors to sharing their funny but sincere letters to the kids, each page of this book delivers pure enjoyment to the readers, young and old alike. With a skillful and humorous play on words, the author suggests how the same words or phrases can mean very different things in different contexts. Colorful and playful, the illustrations boast an abundance of comical details worth exploring and examining closely. Examples include elements that resemble a real museum (information desk, directory, glass display cases, velvet rope barriers, schedule of activities, guided tour, etc.) as well as laughable items like parodies of famous paintings and sculptures featuring tooth figures, vending machines filled with dental care products, and a tooth-shaped walkie-talkie.

The story encourages kids to practice good oral hygiene by praising healthy habits like brushing and flossing while warning about the consequences of not taking proper care of their teeth. Meanwhile, it portrays tooth fairies as more relatable and human-like. Despite their flying capabilities, they can get lost, become injured, or make mistakes.

Both my kids and I are truly amazed by the fantastic job done by the author and the illustrator. This charming book is worth reading over and over again, and has the potential of becoming a new classic for children.
