The Littlest Airplane Blog Tour: Review and Prize Pack Giveaway

Don't judge a plane by its size! See how the smallest gets the toughest job done in award-winning author Brooke Hartman's brand new book The Littlest Airplane. Enter to win one of two fun-filled prize packs in celebration of the author's new releases!

My Review:

The Littlest Airplane is a sweet rhyming picture book that is both inspiring and informative, introducing features of various types of airplanes while teaching important life lessons. The bush plane may be tiny, but he is certainly not timid. When all of his bigger, stronger and faster peers fail in an urgent rescue mission, the littlest plane rises up to the challenge. Howling wind and blinding blizzard can't stop him from saving lives!

In less than 20 pages, the author does an amazing job in creating contrasts and building tension with short sentences and easy-to-read words. The vivid, action-packed illustrations enrich the written descriptions by showing the personality of each character and the severity of the problems they have to deal with. An annotated picture of the bush plane is provided to help interested readers learn about different parts of the aircraft and their functions, along with some additional information about how bush planes are used in the real world.

The story helps us realize that we all have strengths and weakness, but it is important not to let other people's expectations limit your potential. Believe in yourself and don't underestimate your own worth. With courage and determination, everyone could find their place to shine and succeed, which may in turn gives them more confidence and a sense of fulfillment. Meanwhile, we should be aware of the danger of complacency and learn to appreciate others' unique gifts. In sum, it is a small book with big values.
