Frontier Heroes has been recently updated to include new voiceovers, maps and additional historical content. It now features a teenage narrator named Dakota, who introduces each of the five exciting eras from pre-Colonial days through the California Gold Rush with historical context, and provides additional facts and timelines throughout the game.
Each era consists of a series of mini-games and challenges that players need to complete in order to unlock new adventures leading to the next era. The mini-games are kid-friendly, highly interactive and offer an incredibly fun way to learn and understand historical facts. Some games require skills and practice, but they can be very addictive once you get the hang of them! You would want to collect as many stars as you can. Both my son and I have fallen in love with Frontier Heroes. I strongly encourage you to play the game with your kiddo. You might be surprised by what you didn't know before.
Watch the trailer to get a feel of the game.
Empire Run is available on iOS, Android and Kindle Fire platforms for $2.99. A third game in the series will follow later this year, with additional releases in 2015.
