STEM Learning Through Toys
Making learning fun and enjoyable is the key to nurturing the love for knowledge. The number of educational toys that promote STEM-related skills is on the rise. You may already own such toys without realizing their connection to STEM education. Well loved by both boys and girls, LEGO bricks are known to stimulate creativity, spatial thinking, problem solving and teamwork. There are also STEM certified toys that are specifically designed to integrate play with STEM learning.
STEM Learning Through Books
Wouldn't it be great to encourage your child to fall in love with reading and STEM learning at the same time? Luckily, there are quite a few well-written books that teach STEM subjects in fun and engaging ways for students at different stages of learning. Some of our favorites include the Magic School Bus series, the Little Scientists books, and DK's awarding-winning new release Maker Lab.
STEM Learning Through Hands-on Activities
Children learn fast and best through hands-on activities. You can try to come up with DIY projects at home or send your kids to more structured STEM programs like those being offered at Snapology. STEM Learning Through Toys Before retiring I worked with a company that our number 1 priority was stem education in school. We work with a company that was using the rubric cube in math. So I am a fan of toys having something that is for learning. My great nephew plays a lot with lego's.

My kids are homeschooled. The older of the two is really into electricity and magnetism so he enjoys testing theories about what materials are magnetic. My little one is a mini engineer. His favorite thing to do is create elaborate tunnels, bridges, and highways for his Hot Wheels.
My tip for promoting STEM learning in kids is to try different things with them, even if you can't go and get materials for experiments or whatever you can pick up a book and try to engage them. You can stretch your own creativity by looking around the house and using every day things to demonstrate various principles; like the chemical reaction of baking soda mixed with vinegar, for example.
Also realize that not every topic is likely going to grab a kid's attention. Put your effort into finding out what sparks their curiosity and then feed it with books, projects, YouTube videos, whatever you can think of to expand that knowledge. Pretty soon, they'll be telling you stuff you probably never even knew :)
We have a lot of legos, they are my son's favorite STEM activity.
