I was very excited when I received my own copy of Pretty Little Liars Season One DVD set before it was officially released. It includes 5 discs in different shades of purple. The episodes are not exactly the same as what was shown on TV as some of them include unaired scenes, perfect for fans who can't get enough of the show. Special features include: Pretty Little Liars: Two Truths and a Lie; Making of Pretty Little Liars; Little Secrets from the Set; and Lucy Reveals a Secret.
My favorite from these bonus features is Making of Pretty Little Liars, which tells us fascinating behind-the-scenes stories, such as how the cast was selected, how the TV series compares to the novel, and interviews with the cast, producers and Sara Shepard, author of the book series. I was surprised to know that Sara even made an appearance in the show as a colleague of Mr Fitz (Ian Harding). Did you notice it?
Here's a clip from the Making of Pretty Little Liars feature, in which the costume designer defines the fashion character of each of the girls. She also tells you where to get the clothes and accessories you see from the show. It's good to know that you could dress up like any of the pretty girls without breaking your bank.
My second favorite special feature is Pretty Little Liars: Two Truths and a Lie, in which the girls take turns revealing three things about themselves. It's fun to guess which of the three is a lie. That's an interesting way for us to know more about the cast: their likes and dislikes, their aspirations, their family, etc.
Pretty Little Liars is coming back with a new season on June 14! Don't forget to tune in every Tuesday at 8/7c on ABC Family for the latest episode. I'm dying to know who "A" is. It's said to be different from the book.
