Synopsis:
Based on a remarkable true story, ORDINARY ANGELS centers on Sharon (Hilary Swank), a fierce but struggling hairdresser in small-town Kentucky who discovers a renewed sense of purpose when she meets Ed (Alan Ritchson), a widower working hard to make ends meet for his two daughters. With his youngest daughter waiting for a liver transplant, Sharon sets her mind to helping the family and will move mountains to do it. My Review:
Featuring an incredible story and an amazing cast, Ordinary Angels impresses me deeply as an inspiring and heartwarming film that delivers empowering messages about kindness, determination, courage and hope. It shows that everything is possible if you put your mind to it and that a random act of kindness can make a big difference and even change lives.
Realistic and relatable, the movie reveals that everyday heroes like Sharon are not flawless. They've got their own set of troubles and struggles to deal with. I'm pleased to see that through her efforts to help Ed's family, Sharon gathers the courage to fight her addiction and make amends with her son. For those faced with hardships, the story urges them not to give up hope and not to be afraid to reach out for help.
The most exciting scene of all is certainly when the whole town gets mobilized to support Sharon's ambitious and arduous mission. Together, all the ordinary people make a miracle possible! Towards the end, viewers get to meet some of the ordinary angels in real life and get an update of how they are doing today.
I highly recommend this well-made movie. Take your family to the theater and get inspired to make a difference in your own community.
