My Review
I was given the wonderful opportunity to watch Lifemark before it hits the theaters. It's a heartwarming and inspiring movie about love, family, courage, forgiveness and respect for life. Based on a true story, it shows how a young woman's critical choice makes a huge difference in the lives of several families, with David's real birthmother playing a role in the movie. It delves into the question of what family means and demonstrates the power of family and faith to help one pull through difficult times.
Meanwhile, it prompts the viewers to realize the value and beauty of adoption, and urges young mothers who, for one reason or another, can't provide for their children to seriously consider adoption as an option. The actors and actresses did an amazing job of conveying complex emotions with subtlety. There are quite a few touching moments in the movie that brought me to tears. Seeing the shock and struggle David has to experience, I sincerely hope that every child up for adoption can be as lucky as David and will be loved and treasured by their adoptive and biological parents.
