Camp Warner Bros Week 6: Alex & Me

Many kids may find themselves spending more time in front of screens this summer. Physical exercise is all the more important to keep them fit and healthy. This week at Camp Warner Bros, let's watch a movie about sports and sportsmanship. Starring soccer superstar Alex Morgan, Alex & Me tells the story of a young female athlete who learns to overcome various challenges in order to achieve her career goal. The movie is now available on Digital, Blu-ray & DVD.

About the Movie:

Teenager Reagan Willis has one dream – to play soccer like her hero, Alex Morgan. Her bedroom is a shrine to all things Alex, including a life-size poster of the Olympic gold medalist. Yet in the Willis house, Reagan lives in the shadow of her prep football superstar brother, Logan. When Reagan fails to make the cut of the premiere local soccer club team and is humiliated by her rival Claire, she’s certain her ship has sailed. But after accidentally hitting her head, Reagan’s poster of Alex Morgan suddenly comes to life and everything changes!

The movie is very inspiring and uplifting. Through likeable characters and ups and downs in the story line, it teaches children valuable life lessons about perseverance, determination, commitment and kindness. It also encourages us to follow our passion and find self-worth in the process.

In the movie, Reagan, played by Siena Agudong (“Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn,” and “ Star Falls”), uses a chart to keep track of her daily soccer drills as she progresses towards her goals. Camp Warner Bros has provided a printable Alex & Me Goal Chart to motivate the little campers to think of their goals and strive to be their best. Please click on the picture above to download it. Campers can hold themselves accountable, and mark off each item on their list as they are completed!

In soccer, developing strength enables a player to better control his or her body when they are striking or heading the ball, making a save in a goal, or changing directions abruptly on the field. Participating in group physical activity can be fun, elevate your mood, and strengthen your body and bond with your team all at the same time.

Check out this fun Alex & Me Family Workout and get ready to move your body! Please always use caution when exercising. If something doesn’t feel right – don’t do it! Daily exercise improves health, can reduce anxiety, and increases self-confidence. Working together to get through the list as a team will make the whole family feel great!
