My Review:

As soon as I learned about this book, I knew my boys would love it. It's a boldly hilarious rhyming picture book meant to be read out loud while making the readers laugh out loud. Written from a first person perspective, the story shares a series of mishaps a school boy has to endure throughout his day. He decides to pin the blame on his cracked (pun intended), troublemaking behind, which insists on jumping, bumping, bouncing and wiggling, despite all his earnest efforts to behave himself. This reminds me of what my youngest often says at bedtime:"I want to sleep, but my eyes simply won't close." The body does seem to want to act independently of the mind from time to time, especially when they are both young and active.

The book's wacky, cartoon style illustrations add great humor to the story and bring to life the most crazily imaginative scenarios. I also love its creative use of different colors, fonts and special visual effects to highlight certain action words and adjectives in the text. This funny feature helps keep young readers engaged in the story and build their vocabulary along the way. 

The interaction between the boy and his parents implies that instead of trying to firmly enforce discipline, parents may show understanding for their children's frustration with self-control, help them find proper ways to unleash the wild side and release all the pent-up energy, and allow them sufficient time to grow out of some of the common behavior problems. The book is sure to amuse and entertain those who can't have enough of jokes and anecdotes related to that special part of the body.
