My Review:

Scooper and Dumper is a delightful and heartwarming read for young readers who are fond of snow and trucks. "Clear the road, Salt the street, Work together, can't be beat." are lines from the favorite song of Scooper the front loader and Dumper the snowplow, who are best friends working together as a team to take care of their small town. But one day, Dumper has to leave town for the big city to help clear the road and get traffic moving again. Scooper has to stay due to the limitation of her big wheels. On his way back, the road gets so icy that Dumper flips over onto his side and gets stuck helplessly. Extremely worried about her bestie, Scooper rushes to the rescue despite her limited ability to travel far.

The story is told in short, rhyming sentences that make it easy to read and understand. The illustrations feature beautiful snowy scenes and appealing characters with vivid facial expressions. More importantly, the book inspires the reader to overcome challenges and to help a friend in need. Besides showing how snow removal equipment works, it teaches about courage, responsibility, friendship, teamwork, and kindness. It's the perfect book to read at this time of the year!

Lindsay Ward is the creator of the Dexter T. Rexter series, as well as Rosie: Stronger than Steel, This Book Is Gray, Brobarians, Rosco vs. the Baby, and The Importance of Being 3.
