Holiday Gift Guide: TogetherBox

The Bug Box includes a net with removable handle, a pair of bug grabbers, a magnifying glass, a bug mansion, an adorable plush caterpillar called "The Love Bug", a set of big chalks, a roll of streamer, a roll of painter's tape, a bug description sheet and a booklet suggesting the activities you can do with all the supplies. My children were very excited to open their TogetherBox and eager to get started with their bug-themed adventure.

Six fun activities have been suggested for this TogetherBox: Bug Hunt, Bug Creation, Bug Costume, Bug Snack, Edible Bug and Love Bug. Bug Hunt encourages the family to go outside and explore the wonders of nature together. Bug Creation encourages the kiddos to let their creativity and imagination come into full play. Bug Costume is a bit messy but definitely brings tons of laughter to the house. The recipe for "Ants on a Log" is easy enough for a kid to make while bringing back sweet childhood memories of the parents. Edible Bug is another great way to get creative with food. The Love Bug game teaches children about the importance of caring for each other in the family.

TogetherBox provides hours of fun that goes beyond the monthly theme to children of different ages. My baby loves cuddling with the Love Bug while my 5 year old comes up with creative uses of everything else in the box. He inspects everything in our home with the magnifying glass. He teaches his little brother how to catch mini soft balls with the net. And he keeps making cool objects with the streamer and tape, along with his other art supplies.
