~~The giveaway is now CLOSED. Congrats to winner Jen!~~
While you're busy with last-minute gift shopping, party planning or trip arrangements, I'd like to share with you some great holiday time-saving tips offered by Bank of America. As a Bank of America customer for almost 10 years, I really appreciate the tools and features available that have helped me save time and money. Here are a few examples:
- Online Banking: This is my favorite. You can check balances, transfer money, schedule bill payments in the comfort of your home. It saves you a trip to the bank and You no longer have to worry about missing its business hours.
- Bank on the go: Mobile banking allows you to access your money wherever you go. Download the mobile banking app and you can check balances, transfer money, pay bills, and locate ATMs. Sign up for text banking and you’ll be able to send a text message to get your balance instantly in a reply.
- Deposit Image ATMs: You can make quick and easy deposits with Bank of America’s Deposit Image ATMs, which let you feed checks or cash into the ATM with no envelopes or deposit slips required. You get images of your checks and a list of cash deposited on your receipt as proof.
- No more backtracking! Try the “route planner” feature on MapQuest, which helps you save time and money by mapping out an entire journey – with multiple stops – all in one convenient step. You can add up to 25 destinations along any route, and be advised with the fastest route. Since launching in July, it has saved North Americans more than 2.7 million miles!
- When gifting, go green: Go green with your gift-wrapping by reusing paper products around the house, like newspaper, leftover wallpaper, or reusable gift wraps. When sending gift cards, choose electronic cards over plastic ones.
- Road trip rules: Seasoned holiday road-travelers live by three simple rules: 1) invest in a quick pass to whiz past hour-long lines at the tolls, 2) plot out where to get the cheapest gas along the way by using the “gas prices” feature on MapQuest, and 3) pre-pack energy-boosting snacks and beverages to avoid crowded rest stops and fast-food joints.

When making cookies, make an extra batch early on and freeze them. That way, when you are asked to bakes something for a bazaar etc that is happening the next day you don't have to worry!
I start my Christmas shopping in early November. I keep my eyes open for gift ideas when I am doing my personal/household shopping. I pace myself, and I'm usually done by early December, which saves time, since I avoid the last minute crowds and long lines.

bake in big-ish batches - I can't tell you the number of times I have been invited to a last minute holiday event or realized too late I had planned nothing to take to a party - with heaps of Christmas baking already done I whip up a hostess gift or treat plate in 5 min and I'm out the door, plus everyone loves home baked cookies so it's always welcome

I purchase gifts through out the year. I have a labled bag for each member I will be shopping for and add the gifts to the bags as I get them. I also keep a detailed list of what I bought for whom and how much I spent. We set a limit each year on what we can afford and this helps me keep an accurate account. I save the big purchases for nearer to Christmas.

If I do have some presents still on my list I try to finish with online shopping so I am not fighting the crowds. Online research
And family wish lists on google docs so it's easy to see what in-laws like :)
Make a list of traditions you enjoy: special foods, holiday concerts, whatever.
Decide what you absolutely MUST have.
Make the other items optional, or figure out easier ways to do them.
For example, could you start a cookie exchange with friends or get together with a couple of pals or relatives to crank out all the sweets in one very concentrated afternoon in November and put the results in the freezer?
Trying to cram too many things into the few weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas can create more stress than good memories.
I make a very detailed list...and shop online to stick to it. Sometimes, in teh stores, I get distracted!! and overbuy. Buying online works best!!!

Timing saving tip I use a lot: keep a running list of daily plans, appointments, menus, layout of party decorating/cooking schedule/plans, chores you desire to get to and not forget....it saves so much time & stress to consult your list daily! I'll admit it! I buy something and if I see it go on sale from the time I get it to the day I give it to the person, I'll take it back and get a refund and purchase it again. Only if I am going to that store of course. I don't make an extra trip because what gets put out in gas wouldn't make it work while!
