Please let me introduce our new friend Meno (pronounced as mee-no), a super cool space-elf visiting Earthland from Planet Claire, who lives in a beautiful house of cloud. He is also the title character of the six-book series Adventures Of Meno, written by award winning author and illustrator Tony DiTerlizzi and his wife Angela, "an up-and-coming author within Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing."
We got to know Meno and his funny friends Yamagoo, Wishi, and Zanzibar through the first two books in the series: Big Fun! and Wet Friend!, which were sent to us for review. Both books are filled with colorful illustrations and cheerful characters that are vividly presented on fine quality paper. The stories of Meno are told in short, simple sentences and in a playful tone--definitely a pleasure to read to toddlers and younger kids. Besides Meno, my son's favorite character is Yamagoo, the cute jellyfish wearing eyeglasses. He gets excited at the sight of Yamagoo and keeps calling him Ya-ya. For a sneak peak of the books and a closer look at the adorable characters, please visit the official Meno website www.planetmeno.com.
The Adventure Of Meno books are available for purchase at Borders.com for $9.99 each. You may also pre-order the next two in the series Uh-Oh Sick! and Yummy Trip!, which are set to be released on April 6, 2010.
From now through February 1, you may also have the chance to win both of the Adventure Of Meno books along with your choice of a custom made Meno or Wishi blanket at "Catch the Drift" with Mama Snow.
This is part of the Mega Review held by The Classy Closet review panel. Great thanks to The Classy Closet and Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing for this delightful review opportunity!
