Kim from Thrifty Nifty Mommy recently shared her review of the award winning Diono Radian RXT Convertible + Booster Car Seat.

While it is common for parents to complain about the weight of car seats, one can agree that their child's safety is the #1 factor in choosing a seat. Yes, carrying around a 20lb. child inside of a hefty seat can be strenuous, but that is easily outweighed by the peace of mind that your child is safe and secure when traveling.

Diono, a leading manufacturer of child safety seats also understand that safety is paramount for your little ones. Parents continuously recommend their seats despite what they think of the weight, as the weight in Diono seats is incurred by the following, including but not limited to:
  • Full steel frame and aluminum reinforced sides
  • Energy absorbing EPS foam and side impact protection
  • Safe Stop® energy-absorbing harness
  • With the features on the Diono seats, heavy means safe. And heavy is good. VERY good.
Diono car seats are beyond impressive! It’s no wonder that they have won numerous awards; such as the Most Innovate Product Award, Best Junior Car Seat, Top Choice of the Year, PTPA Seal of Approval, Best Buy and Silver Award. The list goes on and on and the reason is simple… quality products with safety and smiles in mind! No wonder they are trusted by parents!

Seat Belt Safety & $100 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway #KidsBuckleUp

Seat belt saves lives. Do you always make sure everyone has buckled up before your start the car? It's especially important for kids who are old enough to buckle up by themselves. Learn more about seat belt safety for tweens and enter to win a $100 Amazon gift card courtesy of Bloggin' Mamas!

#KidsBuckleUp $100 Amazon Giftcard Giveaway

Bloggin’ Mamas would like to support the Ad Council and The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) with promoting the Seat Belt Safety campaign, which asks parents of children ages 8–14 to make sure their kids are consistently and properly wearing their seat belt every time they get in the car.

Parenting a tween involves compromise. But here’s one rule that should not be up for debate – the car doesn’t move until everyone is wearing a seat belt. If you say it, and if parents buckle up themselves, your tween will buckle up. And if they don’t, that’s a fight worth having. It might just save your tween’s life.

Did you know that one child passenger age 8 – 14 is injured every 8 minutes in a car crash? From 2009 – 2013, 1,522 kids ages 8–14 died in car, SUV and van crashes. Of those who died, almost half were unbelted. As children get older they’re sometimes less likely to buckle up. The percentage of child passengers who die while riding unrestrained generally increases with age and is most pronounced among 13 and 14-year-olds regardless of seating position.

Mark Your Calendar for Child Passenger Safety Week & Twitter Party

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that nearly 3 out of 4 car seats are not used correctly. Are you confident that your car seat is properly installed? Whether or not, I'd suggest you have it inspected by a professional. Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children ages 3 and older. As a parent, you should take positive measures to prevent that kind of tragedy from happening to your precious kid.

A great way to start is to join NHTSA's Child Passenger Safety Week from September 19-25 and the National Seat Check Saturday on September 25, during which communities nationwide will have certified technicians available to provide hands-on child safety seat inspections and advice for free! You may use this convenient locator to find nearby car seat inspection stations on National Seat Check Saturday and throughout the year. Instructional videos, handy informational flyers, and links to product ratings and recall lists are available at childcarsafety.adcouncil.org

In addition, there will be a Child Passenger Safety Twitter Party on Wednesday, September 22 at 2 pm EST. NHTSA experts will be available to offer information about car seats and how to travel safely with children. Just follow @childseatsafety on Twitter and use the hashtag #CPSweek to join the conversation.

Don't forget to check out NHTSA's 4 Steps for Kids recommendations via the embedded widget.
