From dress code to daily routines, Admiral Andy introduces various aspects of living aboard the USS Shipshape and shares tips for leading his team with love and might. He shows how to keep the ship in good shape and what keeps the shipmates together so that they can stay on task and on track. His key message is loud and clear: strong character matters as much if not more than skill.
Taking the unique standpoint of a high-ranking Navy officer, the book portrays the aircraft carrier as a place marked with orderliness, discipline and teamwork, where members are valued for their punctuality, honesty, integrity, reliability, diligence, politeness and kindness. It not only educates young readers about the crew's duties, such as cleaning and maintaining the ship, but also encourages them to work hard, think ahead, always be prepared, keep their word, and show appreciation for a job well done.

About the Author:
Mark C. Fava is a career aviation lawyer and retired naval flight officer. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a captain, having commanded three units, including an aviation squadron, and spent years flying the Navy's P-3 Orion. He was the chief operations attorney at Delta Air Lines on 9/11 and has practiced law for more than thirty years; he is currently a vice president at the world's largest aerospace company. Mark is the creator of the Shipshape Shipmates children's book series and the author of Lessons from the Admiral: Naval Wisdom and Sea Stories for Leaders, an award-winning leadership book. He lives in his hometown of Charleston, South Carolina, with his wife and three daughters.
