Full of suspense and surprises, Dragged Down Deep crafts an exhilarating and entrancing supernatural mystery concerning cryptozoology, courage and corruption.
As a talented and experienced author, Michael Okon knows exactly how to keep his readers' attention throughout the story. The reader will get hooked from the very beginning, in which the protagonist insists on climbing up a dangerous cliff despite his guide's desparate plea to stop risking their lives. What is Logan up to? Why is he so determined to validate the existence of a legendary creature? Can he face the truth even when it's not pretty? Questions like these keep popping up as the reader follows Logan's unusal journey and gets dragged down deep in the temptation to unravel the puzzles.
Besides its intricate and upredictable plot twists, the book also charms the reader with its well-developed, multi-faceted characters. Logan, for instance, is not a hero that exists solely in an imaginary world. On the contrary, he is quite relatable, given his weaknesses, his fears, and his inner struggles. His behavior becomes perfectly plausible once the backstory is revealed piece by piece.
Thrilling and enchanting, Dragged Down Deep is a must-read for mystery and mythology lovers. I look forward to the next installment in the series as well as the movie adaption of this novel.
