My Review:
With surprising yet satisfying twists and turns, Trusting Timothy tells a faith-based tale that teaches about honesty and integrity.
While enjoy hanging out with his new friends at his new school, Timothy feels troubled about some of their questionable behavior, such as sneaking into the teacher's office to steal a copy of the test with answers, and trying to win a basketball game through untruthful means. Instead of following along, Timothy chooses to study for the test and wins the game fair and square. Meanwhile, the cheaters have to face the consequences of their poor choices.
Using accessible language and appealing pictures, the book teaches important values through scenarios and characters that school kids can easily relate to. The firm and upright Timothy serves as a likeable role model for young readers, who are encouraged to always follow their conscience and do the right thing in spite of peer pressure to conform. Besides, the story helps deepen the understanding of the cited Bible verses on integrity and shows how they provide guidance for someone who faces tough moral challenges.
