All of us may find it hard to admit our mistakes at times, due to fear, shame, pride, or something else. It is important to start teaching children about the right thing to do from an early age. Read them a fun story for instance, like Tell the Truth, Dragon!, a new addition to Bianca Schulze's beloved interactive picture book series. My Review:
Our good old friend Dragon faces a new challenge in Tell the Truth, Dragon!, a charmingly engaging and heartwarming book that distinguishes itself by humor, elegant artwork and creative interative elements. Tempted by the irresistible aroma, Dragon sneaks a bite of the magnificient freshly baked cake covered in her favorite frosting. Seeing the angry looks of the cooks, she shies away from apologizing and lets Cat take the blame. But that leaves her feeling terrible, not only about ruining the cake, but also about lying about who should be held responsible. Will she figure out how to make things right again? With some help from her young fans, perhaps?
While being drawn to the story by its lovely, funny and familiar characters, young readers are frequently invited to become an active part of it. Distract Dragon with cool tricks, encourage Dragon with kind words, comfort Dragon with a caring gesture... there are so many ways to get involved! Full of action and emotion, the book inspires young children to value honesty and the courage to confess and correct one's mistakes. It helps them realize that lying about a misbehavior only makes things worse and may hurt those who are innocent. It is brilliant for the book to go beyond verbal apologies and to suggest possible ways to make amends or to remedy the situation. Demonstrating the steps for decorating a cake and having three mice hidden in the pictures make the story all the more joyful and entertaining.
Like previous books in the Dragon series, the new one makes a cherishable, collectible gift for any fun-loving child and is worth reading over and over again!

Acknowledging and owning up to a mistake is a very difficult task for children — and it’s not always easy for adults, either! In this most recent installment of the popular Dragon series from Clever, Tell the Truth, Dragon introduces a situation in which Dragon blames someone else for the mistake she makes. Gentle text prompts readers to encourage Dragon to tell the truth and apologize for her mistake, even though it’s a tough thing to do. Dragon realizes her mistake and offers an apology—and then more than makes up for it!
Designed to be a read-aloud, parents will take pleasure in the playful text as much as children will enjoy following the prompts to interact with Dragon. The whimsical and colorful illustrations enable the dragon to jump off the page and will delight readers with her personality on every page.
