My Review:
The Living Christmas Tree is an imaginative, festive book about the magical Christmas Tree in the Miller family. All the ornaments, once placed on the tree, come to life at night and go back to sleep at sunrise. Their secret remains safe until Christmas Eve, when Hannah Miller stumbles upon the merrily moving and talking ornaments during her attempt to find Santa. Hannah and her brother William, who is introduced to the party as well, start to have tremendous fun playing with their new friends every night while the Living Christmas Tree stands in their living room.
The story is sweet and fascinating, featuring cute characters brought to life with bright-colored, whimsical illustrations perfect for spreading the holilday cheer. Each of the ornament characters displays a distinct personality through their words and actions. The interactions among the characters are charming and amusing, just like what you may expect from friends and family members. Whether young readers believe in Christmas magic or not, they are sure to enjoy this book and would probably wish for a living Christmas tree of their own.

About the Author:
Kristin Sponaugle was born in Butler, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Duquesne University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in health sciences and her master’s degree in physician assistant studies. Kristin had always dreamed of becoming an author, and made that dream a reality with her two published children’s books, The Princess Puppy and The Living Christmas Tree. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cross-stitching, and playing with her Maltese dog, Rosie. Kristin lives with her husband, daughter, and Rosie, and resides wherever the Air Force sends them.
