My Review:

Just like what its name suggests, Marvellous Macey, The Delightful Days is a delightful read indeed. Had it not been for the background reading provided by the author, I wouldn't be able to imagine how much Macey had to go through in real life. The book provides a vivid portrait of Macey, who is adorable, friendly, energetic, imaginative, musical and most importantly, happy. Despite her medical condition, she is like a ray of sunshine that radiates positivity everywhere she goes. I would certainly be delighted by the presence of an angelic figure like Macey.

The colorful and playful illustrations add a touch of humor to the story while doubling the fun of delightful reading. The author incorporates one of Macey's imaginary friends - "pop-goes-the-weasel" - into the book, so that young readers could enjoy a game of finding the hidden object (character) as they follow Macey around in the book. The use of short, rhythmic sentences makes the book the perfect choice for a read aloud.

Intended to inspire others to find glitter in the muck, the book encourages everyone to stay positive and resilient in response to life's toughest challenges. It also teaches about kindness, compassion, courage, love and acceptance. If you are looking for something to brighten your day, this lovely book would be a great place to start.
