The History Major Blog Tour: Review & Chromebook Giveaway #TheHistoryMajor

How would you feel if you were to find that things and people around you turned strange and unfamiliar overnight? I'd certainly feel confused, frustrated and even scared. But Amanda Greene has a lot more complicated feelings to deal with as she desperately searches for a plausible explanation for everything she is going through in The History Major by Michael Phillip Cash. This is the first book I've read from the award-winning author and I was totally absorbed into his intricate web of imagination soon after I started reading this unusual story.

The History Major is a short but intense read. It blends in elements of mystery, thriller, horror, and supernatural fiction. But it's like no other mystery I've read before. I couldn't help marveling at the author's unique way of piecing together seemingly unrelated fragments into one cohesive picture. Reading the book was like riding a time travel machine shuffling between history, reality, and Amanda's memories about her childhood as well as the night before her hangover. The line between fact and fantasy got blurred from time to time, keeping the readers wonder what the truth is, which won't be unravelled until the very last few pages of the book! The author goes further by exploring the ways in which history could shed light on the present. For me, this is a book that's worth reading more than once!

About the Book:

After a vicious fight with her boyfriend followed by a night of heavy partying, college freshman Amanda Greene wakes up in her dorm room to find things are not the same as they were yesterday. She can't quite put her finger on it. She's sharing her room with a peculiar stranger. Amanda discovers she's registered for classes she would never choose with people that are oddly familiar. An ominous shadow is stalking her. Uncomfortable memories are bubbling dangerously close to her fracturing world, propelling her to an inevitable collision between fantasy and reality. Is this the mother of all hangovers or is something bigger happening?
