Make Freelancing REALLY Pay Blog Tour: $125 Amazon Gift Cards Giveaway (5 Winners)

Freelancer and entrepreneur Daisy McCarty is on tour this month with her book Make Freelancing REALLY Pay. I'm happy to host her tour stop today with my review and bring you the chance to win $125 in Amazon gift cards!

About Make Freelancing REALLY Pay:

The book helps new and struggling freelancers dramatically improve their business with expert communication and negotiation strategies through a collection of real-life guidelines, tips, and tactics for overcoming common challenges. Readers learn how to select the best clients, expand their business, raise their rates, stabilize their income, and much more.

My Review:
I started blogging just for fun and never expected it to generate any serious income. But after hearing many success stories from my fellow bloggers, I realized that I haven't fully utilized the earning potential of my writing skills and area of expertise. Luckily, I was given the opportunity to review "Make Freelancing REALLY Pay", a short and pleasant read that is both informative and inspiring. The book identifies several issues that may stand in the way of a profitable freelancing career, including the tendency for freelancers to underestimate the value of their own work. More importantly, the book provides practical advice on how to find high-paying jobs through various venues such as professional networks and social media, as well as how to make pitches and establish a clientele. This is a great guide for those looking to pursue a freelancing career!

Hi, all! Just popped back over here and found your comments. Kelly, I'm considering a volume 2 or a workbook to follow up Make Freelancing REALLY Pay. I'm just taking a wee break first!

Gianna, I have a steady supply of referral clients these days who keep me busy. Back when I was first starting out, I landed a handful of jobs per month - a mix of one-off and ongoing projects. It gets easier to find plenty of work with less effort once you have built up a good reputation for quality writing!

Kaci, I actually freelanced part time for a year before going full-time in 2008. It helped not to have to take such a big leap all at once:)
