Pampers Little Miracle Missions & $300 Gift Card Giveaway!

I've got exciting news from Pampers. Thanks to all your support and commitment to the first Miracle Mission surrounding Mother’s Day, Pampers reached their initial goal and as promised, will be throwing 1,000 baby showers, with the help of Points of Light Institute, for expectant mothers across the country in May and June. If you're new to the Pampers year-long Little Miracle Missions campaign, please read my previous post and see how you can help to pay it forward.

Here's a video showing a Pampers-sponsored surprise baby shower for an expecting mom in Cleveland, Ohio. Besides lots of baby necessities, the lucky mom even received a brand new Dell laptop. Wow! I've also included below a couple pictures from the event.

Mission #2 is to make a dad's first Father’s Day one he’ll never forget. Once 4,000 people pledge to find a way for fathers to bond with their babies, Pampers will respond by throwing special Father’s Day cook-outs for dads and babies across the country. You can participate by logging on to Pampers Facebook page, landing on the Miracle Missions tab and clicking “I WANT TO HELP.” Plus, you will be given the chance to win a year’s supply of Pampers diapers and wipes after taking the pledge!

The Giveaway

Here comes the best part. In addition to the 1,000 baby showers they're sponsoring nationwide, Pampers has generously offered to give one of my lucky readers a $300 American Express Gift Card to throw an awesome baby shower for an expectant mother! Are you up to the challenge to pay it forward?

We'd take photos of celebrity babies and use sharpies and stickers and customize them into biker babes. This is fun - we've done it before. The winner was Suri Cruise with all these spiderweb tats and a hand-drawn 'highway to hell' tee. IT was hysterical.

I think I'd make the shower extra special by filling the hall with her favorite flowers, have her favorite restaurant and bakery cater the affair, and rent a high-end video camera to capture testimonials from her friends and family members to play during the shower (and for Trish to keep as a nice memento as well). jbafaith said...: I follow on GFC and I would hold a shower for my dil as they are in the process of adopting a 6wk old baby who they have been helping to care for since birth. The birth mother is on drugs & has no interest in the child. My son & his wife have a 4 1/2yr old girl & mom & baby both nearly died and cannot have more. So they are thrilled to have a chance at another child and to help this one out. They could use the help in getting things for the new baby - my newest grandbaby to be!

If I won the card I would not use it for just one particular baby shower. My husband is an NCO in the UNited States Army and there are lots of soldiers whose wives are expecting at thsi time. I would use the card to buy multiple gifts for different women!

I was always intrigued by those realistic looking diaper cakes but I am nowhere that talented to make them myself and looking them up on varies internet sites I learned they can be very pricey

For my friend Yvonne, I'd plan an intimate gathering (no silly games for us) with good food and friends. Rather than spend a ton of money on silly party favors, games, etc., Yvonne would appreciate a little stock pile of everyday needs. I'd love to do my own diaper cake to save money too! He is in the military and she's going to quit working to stay home with the baby, so a diaper cake of huge proportions would be in order (to help save them money in the future), and a wonderfully engraved item (with the event date and their names) to remember the date would seal it for them, as being very special.

Cricket said...: What a blessing this card would be! I am already planning a co-ed Luau theme baby shower for a great friend and her hubby in August. They are having twin boys!!

If I had the extra money (i.e. this prize) I would include onesies, paint and other accessories so everyone could decorate an outfit for the boys in our desert tropical theme. They would be in a variety of sizes so they would be able to wear them for the entire first year or more. It would also be great to include some disposable cameras as well so everyone could capture the antics during the Baby-lympics games I am planning. :-)

With the leftover money I would provide them with a stash of diapers and wipes because they are going to need them!

Barbarawr said...: My neighbor has had a rough few years. Now her daughter is pregnant, but half a country away. It is SO hard for her not to be with her daily. I would love to throw her a baby shower (my neighbor - the grandmother to be). I think it would be SO exciting for her to get to ooh and ahh over all the cute presents from all the people who care about her, and then get to relive it all when she shows her daughter all the presents. I even have it worked out how I would find out all of the people to invite to the shower.

I would throw myself a baby "blue" shower. Its been a rough economy, and I can't expect someone to throw one for me.
That said, what I really would love & what would make this special; is having a way to gather my friends & family to celebrate this new little man we're bringing into the world. We'd have paper lanterns, blue balloons, and great little finger foods. Whole families would be invited instead of just the ladies; the kids can play on the adjacent playground. All in all, this shower would highlight the most important aspect of a Baby Shower...Family.
